As special assistant to the president & chief executive officer, Sarah Killian supports the president and chief executive officer of Chesapeake Conservancy in pushing forth our strategic plan goals, key partnerships and the work of the Conservancy. She also serves as liaison to the Board of Directors, facilitating board communication and meetings.
Her past work includes serving the president of a living roof and living wall company; community organizing in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Virginia; and managing guest relations for a New York-based fine dining restaurant group.
Killian graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in peace and justice studies with Honos Civicus from the Tisch College of Civic Life.
Born and raised in the Chesapeake Bay region, she grew up planting bay grasses, canoeing on the South River and eating her way through her parents’ fruit and vegetable garden. Outside of work, you can find her cooking and dining beyond her means, hiking Maryland’s beautiful trails, obsessively reading and listening to NPR and writing letters to friends near and far on handmade paper.
