As Chesapeake Conservancy’s Volunteer Coordinator, placed by CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps for a year of service, Michaela Rolecki facilitates day-to-day logistics of the Conservancy’s central Pennsylvania programs. Responsible for recruitment and outreach, planning and running events and providing education and training, she serves the community by providing opportunities to participate in programs such as the Live Stake Collaborative and Riparian Rangers: Union County. Rolecki aims to connect the community with local waterways by creating opportunities to participate in water quality maintenance, learn about local ecology and contribute to conservation and restoration initiatives.
Rolecki graduated from Susquehanna University with a bachelor’s degree in ecology and biology. A nature lover at heart, she enjoys hiking, gardening and traveling. Her most recent adventure included becoming SCUBA certified, with hopes of expanding her environmental knowledge and impact.
