Adeti Afe is an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, majoring in geography and environmental science, with a certificate in GIS and a minor in French language & linguistics. Afe currently serves as vice president of the geography and environmental systems council and works as a residential assistant, where she helps foster community and support student engagement.
As an intern with the Chesapeake Conservancy, she's excited to contribute to the Gather & Grow program by supporting community-driven greening and restoration efforts, helping with tree-planting initiatives and using mapping tools to identify priority areas for increasing green space. Afe is passionate about using spatial tools to explore the dynamic relationships between people, places and the environment, especially through the lens of GIS and landscape heterogeneity. Outside of school and work, she enjoys crocheting, painting, cooking and connecting with the natural world!
